In St. Petersburg, an unknown person shot point-blank at a driver who was bringing the children of his employer, a lawyer, to the gymnasium.
RIA Novosti reports this with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.
According to the agency’s interlocutor, the victim was a native of Uzbekistan, who works as a driver for one of the St. Petersburg lawyers.
“According to eyewitnesses, the unknown person came almost close and fired a shot when he was helping the children get out of the car; the girl was standing closest, but she was not hit,” he said.
Investigators are considering the possibility that the shooter confused the driver with a lawyer, the source said.
He added that the victim is in intensive care in critical condition.
The Investigative Committee of Russia reported that investigators opened a criminal case into the attempted murder of a man.
