Despite her office being destroyed in the recent Brisbane floods, Amanda Given of Given Law was able to continue accessing her law firm’s files through an iPhone application.

The iBench for iPad and iPhone app, part of LawMaster?s legal resource management system, enabled the business to keep running and played an integral role in business continuity of the law firm.

?Because of the nature of this work it became really important to me to use technology as much as possible,? Given said. ?I use the app for my whole practice ? I run my files, contacts and research through it.?

Given?s firm was in Milton; one of the first areas in Brisbane to be affected by the floods of earlier this year but despite this, she was able to continue accessing her work files through the remote access feature of the iBench app.

?Mid-last year, I adopted an electronic office and all my incoming correspondence is scanned into this system,? she said. ?One of our tech guys set up our practice and allowed us to have remote access.?

Running a smaller law firm meant that Given had already enabled remote access to her systems for staff members who were able to access work files remotely during the flood and its aftermath.
