Roll on Friday – ‘Lawyers Worldwide Awards’ is a shoddy scam

Solicitors receiving the welcome news that their professional brilliance has finally been recognised with an award may want to just doublecheck where the email came from before boasting to colleagues.

Law suffers from a cottage industry of companies which pump out dubious prizes as a pretext to sell needy lawyers a gushing profile and perhaps a trophy, and RollOnFriday has previously exposed their poor quality control by securing victories for fake firms.

However, ‘Lawyers Worldwide Awards’ is so shoddy there’s no need for an undercover investigation. Featuring awful fonts, worse typos and employees that don’t appear to exist, anyone who forks out for one of its baubles automatically qualifies for a Most Gullible And/Or Desperate Lawyer 2026 award.

One amused source said the website “uses fonts which are a crime against corporate comms”, and they are not wrong:

Lawyers Worldwide Awards claims that it has “a dedicated team of professionals who analyse the worlds [sic] Lawyers and Advisors to seek out the very best from each company.”

Apparently, “Our professionals spent countless hours making sure we provide accurate and persist [sic] awards for each individual”.

They then “send out around 100,000 voting forms worldwide for each awards to find out who are the very best in there [sic] specified industry”.

According to the site, “We list 6 awards magazines every annual [sic]” and “provide the correct awards”.

A partner who was informed that their firm was the ‘Trademark & Brand Protection Law Firm of the Year – Australia’ received an invitation to buy a page in the award magazine for £350 and, should they feel so inclined, “10 Engraved Award Trophies” for a further £1250.00 + P&P.

ROF’s confidence they would be inscribed correctly is low.

According to Lawyers Worldwide Awards, its dedicated team comprises four executives: director Scott Henderson, director Sue Smith, sales exec Peter Calvin and editor Nina Griffings.

Oddly, there is no other trace of them online and their photos are available as stock headshots used on many other sites.

The company accounts don’t mention them either. They state that 39-year-old Scott Berrow owns the business, and that it only has one employee: Stacey Berrow.

Hopefully the staff are all fictional as there wouldn’t be enough desk space for them if they did exist. The address for the company that operates Lawyers Worldwide Awards, Productive Media Limited, is Berrow House, a semi-detached home on the outskirts of Birmingham:

The site gives a number for people who “need an urgent assitance” and promises to “listen at what you have to say”, but a call by ROF to inform the business it had won Most Low-Effort Awards Company rang without anyone picking up.
