Overview: Quinnipiac University’s School of Law Lynne L. Pantalena Law Library seeks a thoughtful, innovative, and practical librarian to join our library as a Research Librarian and Assistant Director of Legal Research Instruction. Together with the Director, this librarian plays a critical role in designing and implementing the library’s legal and non-legal research curriculum, including credit-bearing courses, guest lectures, and workshops. This position also provides research services to law school faculty, students, and other users of the law library. Additionally, this position will have the opportunity to engage in collection development and outreach endeavors.

Responsibilities:
Works with the library director, law school administration, and faculty to create and
implement instructional programs
Provides classroom instruction in credit-bearing courses, workshops, and guest lectures
Provides research services for Quinnipiac students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members
of the public
Engages in outreach to student groups, journals, research assistants, and other library users,
highlighting library resources and programming
Works with other librarians to analyze, evaluate, and select materials to reinforce the
law school curriculum
Creates online research guides, tutorials, and other educational resources to provide
access to legal information for students, faculty, and staff
Collaborates on library and university committees
Participates in scholarly activities and professional development
Performs other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:
M.L.S. or an equivalent degree from an ALA accredited Library or Information Science Program required
JD from an ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) required

Qualifications:
All experience levels encouraged to apply. 2-3 years professional experience in a Law Library preferred
Demonstrated understanding of current trends in law, legal information, and libraries, including teaching, learning, and research trends
Demonstrated ability teaching within a formal classroom setting, litigating in court, or presenting in another educational/learning environment
Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong public services orientation required.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
