Under the general direction of the Director, the Research & Instructional Services Librarian is responsible for providing research and instruction that serves faculty, students, staff, and the educational programs of the Law School. This position is a member of the Research & Instructional Services Unit, whose members share reference coverage rotation, which may include evenings and weekends. Members of the unit are also expected to stay well informed about trends in a variety of topics such as research and teaching methods, legal education, libraries, and technology. Unit members engage with and support users of the Law Library, which also includes the general public. |
Knowledge of web content management systems such as LibGuides, WordPress; course management systems such as TWEN and Blackboard; knowledge of tutorial production applications such as CALI Author, Camtasia, Captivate, and general video production software. The Research & Instructional Services Librarian should have strong professional presentation skills in the classroom environment as well as with small groups, and strong writing and legal research skills. Expertise in analyzing and validating the authority of information, and extrapolating data from all types of resources, is required.
Preferred: Knowledge of graphic design applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, or similar applications.
