Research & Development Strategist
Best Lawyers, a legal marketing platform headquartered in Augusta, Georgia, is currently seeking individuals to add to our Research & Development Department. Our Research & Development Strategist is responsible for strategic business development opportunities that fall within the purview of the
Department. This position’s primary responsibility will be to assist the Director in analyzing opportunities and developing new products. The Research & Development Strategist will also be responsible for managing our contract employees. To succeed in this position, the candidate must have a grasp of global business practices, excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills, and have strong interest in business and data-analytics. Familiarity with the legal industry is preferred, but not required.
Reports to: Director of Research & Development
Status: Full Time, Exempt
A successful candidate will be expected to:
- Manage the department’s contractor program
- Collaborate with the director and research managers to grow the business through innovation and development
- Help facilitate the execution of new upcoming projects
- Research opportunities, competitors, and the marketplace landscape
- Use analytical skills to review data to help the Department make strategic data-driven decisions
- Interpret data into insights that can translate into actionable recommendations that inform the department and company
- Design and distribute analytical reports for members of the department and company
- Engage with other departments to ensure research products and development goals are met
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of comparable work experience related to this position
- Project Management experience and success
- Exposure to the legal industry, digital publishing, or international business is preferred
- Proactive self-starter; able to work well without constant direction
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong quantitative skills and comfortable in data-driven business environment
- Creative problem-solving acumen and flexibility
- Very comfortable with technology and learning proprietary systems
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Languages, Liberal Arts, Political Science, Economics, Communications, or another related field; minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
