RESEARCH CENTRE TEAM LEADER Herbert Smith Freehills Sydney

We have a very exciting opportunity for a Research Centre Team Leader to join our Knowledge, Learning and Research team in our Sydney office.

Some key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership and direction to the Sydney Research team in line with the firm’s strategic objectives
  • Contributing to the oversight of an outstanding national research desk service to the firm.
  • Actively participate in and deliver complex Legal and Business research services to fee earners nationally.
  • Delivery of legal and business training to fee earners.
  • Liaising with vendors such as information and software suppliers.
  • Managing the allocation of work and delivery of tasks within the team.
  • Contributing to the delivery of rosters for the national research desk.
  • Effectively implementing national Research initiatives in the local office, acting as a trusted point of contact for stakeholders in Sydney and across the national network.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, you will also have:

  • 3 years’ experience in a law library
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (i.e. librarianship or information studies)
  • Previous experience in managing people and delivering legal research training
  • Experience using relevant technology (including library and research management systems and Microsoft applications)
  • Proven track record of successful delivery on relevant projects
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex research tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive client service manner
