A&O plants Peerpoint in Hong Kong to crack Asian market
Allen & Overy has kick-started its Asian ambitions with the roll-out of flexible resourcing division Peerpoint to Hong Kong this week.
The firm is testing the waters in China with the hope of proving that Peerpoint can work effectively outside the London market.
Peerpoint will continue to rely on A&O alumni, who will be called upon to take on extra work during periods of high demand or when there is the need for specialist skills.
Peerpoint CEO Richard Punt confirmed that the firm had started a “gentle launch” in Hong Kong before Christmas and has been surprised by the interest already generated by the programme.
But the fact that Asia has been picked as the first global region to expand Peerpoint into merely underlines its continued importance to international law firms, and clients’ desire for new ways of sourcing their legal advice there.
