Our Client is an international software solutions and IT MNC and they?re looking for a regional legal counsel responsible for providing in-house legal counsel to our client?s Asia Pacific organization, with specific responsibility for South East Asia, India, Korea and China. This role is a challenging autonomous position working closely with business units internally.

Responsibilities Include:

Negotiate contracts and license/services agreements
Support the corporate compliance programs, including educating regional employees and ensuring compliance with corporate and global licensing policies, US based laws and regulations (as applicable, e.g., FCPA, SOX and SEC regulations) and local laws
Provide legal advice and counsel on regional or country-specific legal issues
Liaise with outside counsel on region-specific engagements and assisting Group Legal on Global litigation engagements in Asia Pacific
Support and advise Group Legal and local sales management on risk management issues
Some company secretarial work.
Interaction- Internal and External Communication:

Communicate/coordinate with regional sales, finance, best practices and other relevant personnel during commercial negotiations, and to ensure compliance and involvement in legal issues and processes
Communicate with Group Legal on legal issues and company policies
Negotiate agreements/resolve disputes with potential and existing? customers, providers and partners
Qualifications/Expectations

Singapore qualified lawyer.
Mandatory minimum of 5 + years of qualified legal experience with at least 2 years of in-house legal experience. Relevant in-house experience in a position of some responsibility and seniority preferred.
Significant experience in the drafting and negotiation of software licenses, services agreements and other technology-related agreements, and of interacting with and supporting sales, is mandatory.
Experience in providing support in compliance training and litigation supervision advantageous.
Business fluent Mandarin language skills (both written and spoken) strongly preferred, as is previous exposure to the China and Korea markets.
Ability to work independently with very little supervision essential.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Desire to work as part of a global team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
