The Reference Librarian will be based at WMU-Cooley’s Tampa Bay campus in Riverview, Florida. The Reference Librarian will assist library users in traditional and electronic research and participate in the faculty liaison program. This individual teaches various instructional classes, and conducts presentations and assists with instructional support. S/he assists with administrative public services tasks. The position requires evening and weekend hours.
Successful candidates will possess all or many of the following qualifications and/or skills: Master of Library Science and Juris Doctor or equivalents are required; experience with legal reference, research sources, and online services preferred; strong verbal, written, teaching, and organizational skills; proficiency in software applications; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds; strong service ethic; self-directed; can manage multiple tasks and projects; engage in complex decision making; and, works well in a team environment.
