The University of La Verne Law Library is seeking an energetic Reference and Digital Resources Librarian to provide reference service, teach legal research, maintain the library’s web pages, coordinate the library’s social media presence, and design online and print graphics for library outreach. The University of La Verne College of Law, which is fully approved by the ABA, is situated in Ontario, California, approximately 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
Specific Duties:
Provide reference service to patrons
Teach in the 1L and advanced legal research classes
Teach in the legal research certificate program
Maintain library web pages and social media accounts
Design and create online and print graphics for outreach
Participate in collection development
Coordinate access to digital collections with Wilson Library
Participate in professional activities at local, regional, and national levels
Minimum Qualifications:
J.D. from an ABA-approved law school; M.L.I.S. or equivalent from an ALA-accredited library program
Knowledge of legal bibliography
Expert knowledge of Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, and HeinOnline
Facility with WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to design and create documents with professional graphics and desktop publishing programs
Ability to hard code HTML, PHP, CSS, and JavaScript
Familiarity with integrated library systems and proxy servers
Knowledge of legal databases, such as CEB OnLAW, RIA Checkpoint, BNA Information Center, Wolters Kluwer Cheetah, LLMC Digital, HeinOnline, Making of Modern Law
Classroom and online teaching experience
Legal reference experience
