Reddit, the social media giant in the US, has been denied in their attempt to legally block a Singapore-based blockchain company from registering their trademark. On March 5th, 2026, Singapore’s Intellectual Property Office issued a full decision ruling that the name “Reddio” differed enough from “Reddit” so as not to confuse the consuming public on a daily basis based upon an independent adjudicator’s opinion. As a result of this significant decision, a local technology company can now move forward with using its chosen name and by extension allow the use of its product name.
