Record Companies Allege In Suit That ISP Turns Blind Eye To ‘Blatant’ Copyright Infringement Over Network

arner Music, Sony Music, Warner Music and other major music companies sued Frontier Communications Tuesday in New York Southern District Court. The lawsuit, filed by Oppenheim + Zebrak, accuses Frontier of illegally allowing thousands of its subscribers to download and distribute the plaintiffs’ copyrighted works via BitTorrent and other file-sharing platforms. Attorneys have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 1:21-cv-05050, UMG Recordings, Inc. et al v. Frontier Communications Corporation.
