WSJ.com is reporting that the The Washington Post Co. is preparing to launch a free news-aggregation website, part of a growing push among publishers to personalize the news-reading experience.

The service, called Trove, lets readers build their own news site based on topics they choose. Scheduled to go live next month, Trove sifts through more than 10,000 news sources and delivers articles to a personalized page using algorithms that take into account articles a person has read and personal interests. Trove apps for devices like the iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry are also in the works.
