Overview:Practising Law Institute (“PLI”) is seeking a Publishing Coordinator for its talented, Manhattan-based team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Administrative Support:

  • Administrative support for Publishing department and coordination of publishing tasks that conjoin with Legal Information Services
  • Support of publishing teams needs in production, Course Handbooks, Treatises and Journals administrative tasks
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail and correspondence
  • Prepare outgoing mail, packages and parcels for delivery via FedEx or messenger
  • Support customer and author book orders and library retention efforts

 


Departmental Support:

  • Maintain PLI Press email inbox, responding to or routing emails as required; prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries and redirect to customer service where needed
  • Provide follow up for customer returns, including by contacting customers and processing replacement orders
  • Coordinate with authors to obtain chapter agreements and process book orders
  • Work with Associate Manager to prepare weekly report covering sales, renewals, and returns
  • Coordinate and process filing of copyright certificates and maintain accurate records of copyrights
  • Update and maintain an up-to-date printer-quality PDF file of each treatise and answer book published by PLI
  • Provide editorial support by tracking manuscript submissions and inserting changes into book production schedule
    • Maintain contact with entire department to ensure smooth workflow and ongoing follow up
    • Prepare and distribute materials for departmental meetings
    • Conduct research using paid and web market research services
    • Maintain departmental attendance calendar
    • Other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • B.S. undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is required
  • At least one (1) year of administrative support experience
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of various software programs, including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Knowledge of Salesforce desired
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and a good listener with a polished, professional demeanor
  • Ability to take direction and seek guidance from Executives, Directors and Managers from department
  • Exercises excellent judgment in a variety of situations
  • Must be focused, organized, and possess superior attention to detail
  • Positive, willing attitude; collaborative work style
  • Willingness to ask questions in order to learn or to confirm understanding
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, if and when they occur, and to multi-task among assignments
Compensation Range for this position
$50,000 – $53,000 per annum (Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.)
