Publications Assistant Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Boston

The Publications Assistant reports to the Director of Publications.
Coordinates With: Production Coordinator and Copy Editors
Customer Service Department
Accountability Indices: Timeliness of updates to tracking and scheduling data
Currency of author rosters/biographies in print and on website
General Responsibilities: The Publications Assistant collaborates with the Publications Attorneys to support
publications development, assisting with project management and public
relations/general administration.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Handles authors’ correspondence, publishing acknowledgments, author biographies, permissions, exhibits,
Library of Congress numbers, and copyrights.
2. Assists with telephone and email follow-up and circulation of review galleys.
3. Maintains and updates publications data used for weekly status reporting.
4. Coordinates with Customer Service Department to maintain and update database to include all authors and
editors for use on website and print rosters.
5. Coordinates distribution of author complimentary copies of books.
6. Provides editorial support and proofreading as needed on correspondence, brochures and other publications
materials.
7. Maintains library with books, supplements, journals, etc.
8. Participates in seminar administration and general office responsibilities.
9. Assists with other projects as needed.
Qualifications:

  • College degree
  • Accurate and efficient typing
  • Demonstrated proficiency in spelling, grammar, and proofreading
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong telephone and email communication skills
  • Technical proficiency with MS Word and its redlining/tracking functions, and familiarity with Excel

spreadsheets; experience working with databases would be desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
