The York City Police Department joined forces with LexisNexis Risk Solutions to launch a new online reporting system for York residents.
According to the department, the Desk Officer Reporting System (DORS) automatically interfaces information submitted online by community members with our department’s records management system.
Through this web-based reporting system, anyone can report an incident from any Internet-enabled PC or mobile device.
The reports will be reviewed and automatically integrated into their agency’s records management system. Several different report types can be filed online without the need to speak directly with a police officer, per the department. Those report types include:
- Criminal Mischief
- Criminal Mischief to Vehicle
- Harassment by Communication
- Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Crash
- Lost Property
- Theft
- Theft from Auto
- Traffic Complaint
Citizens can self-report crimes under the following circumstances;
- The incident occurred within the City of York.
- There are no suspects.
If the report is successfully reviewed and approved, residents will be issued a case number and receive a PDF copy of their report in their emails within approximately five business days.
