Westlaw Litigator case analysis tool now provides enhanced integration with legal research and e-discovery

Thomson Reuters today announced the launch of Westlaw Case Notebook? 3.0, providing greater integration with legal research and e-discovery tools, improved document-level analytical functionality, and enhancements to LiveNote real-time sessions. The new version of Westlaw Case Notebook improves the ability of litigators to more efficiently build strong cases by pulling essential case information together in one place, including e-discovery documents, briefs, transcripts, pleadings, key facts, legal research and more.
Westlaw Case Notebook 3.0 is part of Westlaw Litigator?, the most comprehensive set of integrated tools, services and content that help attorneys be more productive at each stage of a matter and more efficient in creating superior work product.
Westlaw Case Notebook 3.0 tightly integrates information from legal research and e-discovery applications, placing it at users? fingertips. When documents are imported from the Westlaw CaseLogistix e-discovery tool, CaseLogistix document properties, such as notes, redactions, issue tags and Intellifolder groupings are automatically mapped to corresponding Case Notebook properties. This helps litigators move faster and seamlessly from the document review stage to case analysis.
Similarly, integration with WestlawNext means imported documents will include any annotations made on the documents in WestlawNext. Litigators can more efficiently combine legal research and analysis with factual case analysis and argument drafting.
Document-level enhancements to Westlaw Case Notebook 3.0 allow users to more efficiently view and sort document properties, such as author, date, Bates coding, custodian, issue and more. Users can also create customized sub-groups, which allow more flexible organization of documents and information.
Improvements to LiveNote capabilities allow court reporters to make typographical corrections to transcripts during depositions and send updates to recipients of the LiveNote real-time feed, ensuring that attorneys are working with the most up-to-date transcript as possible.
