Agreement brings increased efficiency and accuracy to the Federal Judiciary, dramatically improving research speed and quality
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, January 3, 2024 – Thomson Reuters (NYSE/TSX: TRI), a global content and technology company, today announced an updated agreement with the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO) to provide Westlaw Precision to the Federal Judiciary, including the U.S. Supreme Court and all U.S. circuit, district, and bankruptcy courts, as well as federal public defenders, for the remainder of its current contract through Nov. 1, 2024.
Westlaw Precision will be rolled out to federal judiciary users, more than 25,000 legal professionals, over the coming months. Westlaw Precision is the latest version of Westlaw, and it dramatically improves research speed and quality. It enables lawyers to target precisely what they are looking for: legal issues, issue outcomes, fact patterns, motion types, motion outcomes, causes of action, party types, and more.
By leveraging quality content, subject matter expertise, and innovative technology – including the latest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation – Westlaw Precision empowers users to improve their workflows and make better decisions faster. Federal judiciary users will now have access to Precision Research – one of six innovative research capabilities originally launched in Westlaw Precision that delivers advanced speed and accuracy in search results and reveals key case attributes to improve efficiency – as well as KeyCite Cited With, KeyCite Overruled in Part, Graphical View of History, Keep List/Hide Details, and Outline Builder.
