Press Release: LexisNexis to Advance Discussions Around A.I., Analytics and the Future of Law at Legalweek New York

Here’s the PR in all its glory…Interestingly no mention of blockchain? We presume they are aware of the changes that will happen in the supply of primary information when somebody tackles this issue.

NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) JANUARY 30, 2018

LexisNexis® Legal & Professional, a global provider of information and analytics, will be advancing the industry’s discussions around artificial intelligence (A.I.), legal analytics and related topics during Legalweek New York, one of the legal industry’s preeminent technology conference and expo (Jan. 29 – Feb. 1; New York Hilton; Booth 102).

At the show, LexisNexis will reveal insights from a survey conducted in partnership with ALM Intelligence on the impact of legal analytics at AmLaw 200 law firms—including adoption rates, use cases and the value the technology brings to the practice of law. The findings will be prominently showcased during the Legalweek Fireside Chat titled, “Legal Analytics and the Future of Data-Driven Law” (Weds., Jan. 31; 4:15 – 5:15pm). Josh Becker, CEO of Lex Machina, will be joined by panel moderator Patrick Fuller, senior director at ALM Intelligence, and Scott Reents, lead attorney, data analytics & e-discovery, at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.

“Legal analytics continues to reshape both the business and practice of law for corporations and law firms, while also driving the development of new innovations and practical applications. What’s exciting is that the industry has barely scratched the surface of the technology’s true potential,” said Becker. “These new findings validate the heavy focus LexisNexis has on analytics, which empowers lawyers to make better, faster, and smarter data-driven decisions and focus on higher-value work.”

In addition, LexisNexis executives will be on hand to discuss the company’s vision and leadership surrounding artificial intelligence (A.I.) and analytics, including how it will advance future product development and technology integrations.

  • Jeff Pfeifer (vice president of product management) will discuss the company’s technology strategy, product vision and roadmap, industry issues and trends
  • Daniel Lewis (Ravel Law CEO) will discuss and showcase the upcoming integration of research analytics from Ravel Law into Lexis Advance, which will be rolled out in the first half of 2018
  • Josh Becker will discuss the company’s analytics strategy, the future of legal analytics and the data-driven lawyer, the legal analytics survey results and Lex Machina’s ongoing expansion into every facet of federal and state law

“At LexisNexis, we’re leveraging cutting-edge A.I. and analytics technologies that are advancing better law. By improving knowledge and understanding, delivering better legal counsel and enhancing strategic decision-making, we empowering our customers to overcome critical legal challenges,” said Pfeifer. “These powerful technologies—combined with our specialized expertise and the industry’s most comprehensive collection of legal content—are helping us work hand-in-hand with our clients to reimagine the practice of law and continue meeting the evolving needs of today’s data-driven legal professionals.”

The company’s commitment to developing innovative new technologies and applications is captured in the new global LexisNexis branding campaign, “Advancing What’s Possible,” which will be featured prominently on signage throughout the New York Hilton and the LexisNexis booth during Legalweek and beyond. In addition, both LexisNexis and Lex Machina will be presented with an award from a prominent, national legal publication for their leadership, innovation and product excellence in A.I. for the legal industry.
