Want to hire a lawyer to handle your case in a different location, or need legal help to set up a start-up? Now, a Mangaluru-based start-up has come out with an app to solve these issues.

Legall helps users search for a lawyer, provides legal solutions to entrepreneurs, and helps lawyers outsource their cases and prepare synopsis of arguments with citations of higher courts.

Uday Prakash Muliya, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Legall, and a practising lawyer, told BusinessLine that some of his clients had sought his help to arrange lawyers for them in other cities, inspiring him to launch a platform that benefits both clients and lawyers.

Muliya said he has been working on this project for the past eight months. His start-up has listed many lawyers in Karnataka, categorising them on their speciality of service.

Asked how the app scrutinises a lawyer who opts for listing on the app, he said the lawyer has to log in with the registration number provided by the Bar Council.

For entrepreneurs

Considering the need for legal strategies while setting up start-ups, Legall provides services to entrepreneurs based on their requirements. He said the firm helps start-up founders meet the requirements based on their areas of activities and lets them opt for the solutions they want.

The company has also tied up with chartered accountants and company secretaries to provide services to start-ups.

The app also has a separate section to meet the legal requirements during a real-estate transaction,. with downloadable templates for draft deeds, contracts and documentation services.

For lawyers

For lawyers, Legall offers process outsourcing, too. Lawyers can share their case details, and a team of experts at Legall prepares a synopsis of arguments with citations of High Courts and the Supreme Court.

The app has a diary where the lawyers can store their case data, client information, case posting dates and stages. They can also send messages to their clients about the case postings.

Asked about the start-up’s business model, Muliya said some of the features, such as searching for a lawyer and fixing appointments, are free. Legall charges for services such as providing strategies for start-ups, facilities related to real estate and outsourcing services.

The app will be launched on Saturday.
