Hong Kong, February 10, 2015 – Awapatent, a leading European consultancy firm within the field of Intellectual Property (IP), has appointed Ai-Leen Lim as the CEO and Principal Counsel of AWA Asia in its new office opening ceremony in Hong Kong today.
AWA Asia, Awapatent’s newly registered firm in Hong Kong and Beijing will be managed by the well-reputed and top-ranked Ai-Leen Lim, a Hong Kong and UK solicitor who is also admitted as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore.
Ai-Leen Lim has been an international partner and head of trademark portfolio management of a prominent international legal firm known for its IP practice in Greater China (Beijing and Hong Kong). Her experience spans a broad range of industry, including food, FMCG products, personal care, fashion, electronics, media, real estate, financial and professional services sectors. Ai-Leen Lim is consistently recognised as a leading IP lawyer for China and Hong Kong by the major legal directories and industry publications including Chambers Asia, The World Trademark Review (WTR 1000), Asia Pacific Legal 500, Who’s Who of Trademark Lawyers, Asialaw Leading Lawyers, Managing IP (Asia) and Asia IP Profiles.
A team of six senior lawyers and IP professionals will join Ai-Leen Lim in AWA Asia to guide Western clients on Asian IP issues following the East-Meets-West-Approach, as well as counselling Asian clients in respect of European IP issues by collaborating with the Awapatent’s global network through 14 European offices.

This includes advertising, sweepstakes and gaming law, product safety, labelling, and related regulatory issues in conjunction with the promotion of their products and services. She provides counsel on IP advisory matters (copyright issues, domain names, data protection, competition law, internet law, and social media issues) and on contentious IP matters such as infringement cases, oppositions, cancellation actions and rectifications.
