The Reference Librarian assists the library professional staff to develop the library’s reference program policies and their implementation. The Reference Librarian provides patron reference services as well as supporting the institution’s faculty, students and administration in research and scholarship.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Duty
1. Assist patrons in the evaluation and use of print, electronic, microform, and other resources. Provides general reference services in all formats.
2. Support the Reference Librarian as necessary to support scholarly research and class instruction. Supervise 2-3 Research Fellows to support Faculty Scholarship and Administrative Research Needs. This includes developing and providing in-class research presentations.
3. Develop and present formal and informal library instruction for full range of available resources, including production and maintenance of instructional materials (such as guides) to aid students in their research. This includes developing and providing in-class research presentations.
4. Assist in promotion of Faculty Scholarship.
5. Keep current on developments in information technology that could be used to improve library reference and instructional services.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
JD/MLS Required. Experience working in a law school library or law firm library preferred.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience in the training and instruction of groups is preferred.

• Detailed knowledge of print and electronic legal research tools.
