A university library has a new requirement for a part-time (15 hours per week) Law Librarian to work from their Bristol campus. Managing the library as the sole Information professional, you will work closely with colleagues across several campuses during a time of change and growth to deliver information services, training sessions and online and distance learning. Specifics include:
· carrying out legal research and answering law-specific enquiries from staff and students
· managing the study facilities within the library ensuring the space is conducive to study
· designing and delivering in person and online training programmes to staff and students
· liaising with teaching and support staff
· working with colleagues to coordinate and develop resources
· developing strategy and procedures
· keeping abreast of technological developments in relevant subject areas
To be considered for this role you will have:
· a library/information management qualification
· previous work experience either from a law firm library or from a law faculty library within higher education
· experience of using key online and hard copy law-related sources to handle legal research requests
· a high level of IT literacy including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, VLE and library management systems
· experience of developing and delivering training programmes
· the ability to work unsupervised
· excellent communication skills
· the ability to produce clear and concise reports
