A leading global law firm require a Search Specialist to join their Knowledge Team that provide solutions to improve lawyers’ productivity and profitability by promoting collaborative working and sharing of internal information and knowledge.
This is an exciting new role to help ensure that the firm’s global search solution meets the needs of its users. This will involve looking at and analysing how search is being used, delivering training and mentoring, providing user support and guidance, and identifying the actions that need to be taken to enhance the search experience for the user.
Main responsibilities include:
· – Provide support for Enterprise Search and People Search.
· – Conduct regular (monthly, quarterly) analysis of search phrase logs, as well as failed searches.
· – Conduct regular measuring of search score sets and from this make recommendations for changes to improve or provide input for things such as additional search improvements/enhancements, new vocabulary development, relevancy boosting, or identification of content gaps that should be addressed.
· – Collect and respond to user feedback.
· – Troubleshoot search issues and identify and implement solutions.
· – Take action to improve the ranking of particular topics and documents and in particular exploring queries, resulting in a low or zero number of hits.
· – Own recommended results.
· – Provide user training and guidance.
· – Provide support and back up to managers and work closely with team members to ensure projects are progressed and effectively delivered.
To be considered for this role: you will need to have the following skills and experience:
The ideal candidate for this position would have a firm grounding in Sharepoint (2010 and 2013) with professional experience of developing search solutions in a knowledge or technology-based role.
· – Degree level, ideally in an information related subject.
· – Experience in constructing, assessing and enhancing taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, classification standards and metadata schemas that target search and classification needs of the enterprise.
· – Knowledge of SharePoint and intranets; knowledge of internal search appliances.
· – Knowledge of the application of classification, taxonomy management and information architecture.
· – Experience with gathering requirements from stakeholders.
· – Experience of training and supporting users in using technology systems.
· – Experience of presenting in front of groups and senior management.
