Do you have experience working in a law library? Are you an organized, detail-oriented individual, able to find information quickly and efficiently? Do you have IP background? One of the largest law firms in DC, is looking for a temporary librarian, and this may be the perfect opportunity for you. This individual will be responsible for providing attorneys and staff with a high level of reference service, and enhancing the service in the library in general.
Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Familiarity with the library’s collection and other local collections for the purpose of providing quality reference service to the Firm.
  • Assisting database users with search strategies and technical problems.
  • Ability to synthesize research results, create value added charts and graphics as necessary, or using other methods to add value and clarity to raw research data – with the goal of enhancing value to the Firm and providing a foundation for Competitive Intelligence.
  • Researching and evaluating print and electronic resources for attorney access, collection development, and vendor implementation and improvement.

You may be the perfect person for this position if you:

  • Have several years of library background, and at least one or two in a law library.
  • You are detail-oriented, well-organized, and are able to locate information quickly.
  • Are engaged and customer-service oriented.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
