The Maloney Law Library at Fordham School of Law, located at Lincoln Center in New York City, seeks creative and technologically innovative applicants for a full-time Serials and Reference Librarian position. This is a great opportunity to work in multiple departments within a library and gain management/supervisory experience. librarian will join a dynamic library staff that provides the highest level of service and support to world-class faculty and students.

Responsibilities:
- Under supervision of the Head of Electronic Services, manage all aspects of serials and continuations in the law library, including electronic serials.
- Supervise two full-time serials clerks and one-to-five part-time student employees.
- Coordinate serials activities within the library: mail sorting, check-in, processing, bindery, claiming, repurchasing, title changes, cessations, and cancellations.
- Establish policies and procedures to oversee maintenance of serials records for both print and online collections. Help to develop and coordinate policies and procedures for the rest of the Technical Services department and for the library.
- Handle vendor relations for all aspects of serials.
- Work closely with all library departments to insure the integrity of the collection.
- Administer the serials module of the online library system and other serials management tools like Serials Solutions.
- Administer the Electronic Resources module of the online library system.
- Keep current with library technology and training.
- Participate in collection development activities as a member of the Acquisitions Committee.
- Provide general reference assistance to law students, faculty, and administrators at the reference desk.
- Serve as library liaison to faculty members and administration.
- Participate, as an adjunct professor, in introductory and advanced legal research instruction programs and bibliographic sessions.
- Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
- M.L.S. or equivalent from an A.L.A. accredited library school is required.
- J.D. from an A.B.A. accredited law school or equivalent non-US law degree.
- 1-3 years’ experience related to serials/technical services in an academic/law library is preferred; will train as necessary.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience with OCLC and MARC formats preferred.
- Knowledge of legal publishing industry preferred.
- Experience with Innovative Interfaces Inc. systems, especially the serials and electronic resources modules, preferred.
- Experience with Serials Solutions or an equivalent service a plus.
