About Strategy and Culture
The Strategy and Culture Portfolio works collaboratively across the University to support the development and delivery of the University’s strategic plan Advancing Melbourne. The portfolio is responsible for overseeing strategy and planning; policy; governance; and government, civic and community engagement at a whole-of-University level.
About the Role
We are seeking a professional Events Coordinator to support and delivery a range of virtual, in-person and hybrid events for The Melbourne Law School.
Reporting to the Communications Lead, this role is responsible for end-to-end delivery of events, including planning, coordinating, promoting, delivering and evaluating events. You also need to liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a timely events delivery. This includes planning events within assigned budget and working outside of business hours when needed to ensure a successful delivery of events. In a typical week at work, you may:
- Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure all audiences are considered and event content is leveraged across all channels
- This role may also be required to support other communications and marketing activities as part of the Divisional Grouping team in the pursuit of the Divisions’ academic mission and University’s strategy, Advancing Melbourne
About You
You are a confident collaborator with a passion for building and maintaining relationships. Your advanced verbal and written skills with a keen attention to detail will play vital in delivering excellent customer services to various stakeholders.
You will also have:
- A degree with some relevant experience, or extensive experience and specialist expertise in events, or an equivalent combination of both
- Proven experience in coordinating the delivery of a broad range of events, including high-profile events
- High-level organisational and time management skills, including ability to prioritise workloads across two teams, work well under pressure, and organise own work to meet deadlines
- Experience in planning and delivering events is desirable but not a requirement for the role
