It’s a new courtroom mystery that’s getting rave reviews! Portland author and former criminal defense attorney Phillip Margolin joined us to share the inspiration behind his new novel–“An Insignificant Case.”
The book features a small-time lawyer defending an eccentric thief who stole a painting from a restaurant. It soon becomes clear that the thief also stole a few other items which the restaurant owners don’t want to directly acknowledge or have anyone else discover, and soon the small-time lawyer has to unravel two murders. In its *starred* review, Booklist says, “He might not be as well-known as John Grisham, but Margolin is just as talented a storyteller, and this winning novel showcases his gifts for plotting and character design.” Kirkus Reviews came in with “Margolin deals out the complications as deftly as a card shark… An inventive legal thriller.”
