The Dallas Morning News Reports

A man investigators focused on immediately after the slaying of prominent Dallas attorney Ira Tobolowsky nearly six years ago was arrested Wednesday in Florida on a capital murder charge in connection with his death.

Tobolowsky’s body was found in the burning garage of his North Dallas home in May 2016. A Dallas police spokeswoman refused to say what evidence prompted the arrest of 61-year-old Steven Aubrey so long after police initially questioned him about the case.

Aubrey was booked into the Broward County Jail in lieu of $2 million bail, according to jail records. It was unclear whether he had an attorney.

Aubrey previously denied involvement in the killing. He was involved in a legal dispute with Tobolowsky at the time of the lawyer’s death. Tobolowsky’s family pointed fingers at Aubrey for years. But until this week, no one had been arrested in the case.
