‘ PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:’
The Westlaw Marketing Director will drive profitable business growth in Thomson Reuters, Legal, through the development and execution of strategic marketing campaigns that distill product and service benefits to their essence, distinguish their unique value from competitors in dramatic ways, and target customer segments with customized approaches that substantially increase new sales & revenue and improve customer retention, with a primary focus on the North American legal market. This director will partner with New Product Development, Segment Marketing, and Sales & Account Management to hone the value proposition of our offerings for different customer segments to maximize profitable growth, and will lead cross-segment product strategy initiatives. Job duties include developing and managing marketing strategies, creating key marketing messaging and material, and cross-segment product launch planning.
‘ MAJOR AREAS ”’ OF ”’ ACCOUNTABILITY:’
Develops cross-segment marketing strategies that maximize product sales, revenue, and retention.
Manages a team that executes campaigns that effectively communicate unique and substantial value as compared with competitive offerings.
Directs the creation and production of marketing materials to drive awareness and understanding of product and service value for our internal sales and account management teams as well as for customers and potential customers.
Analyzes campaigns for impact on new sales, new revenue, and retention, making changes quickly where needed to improve performance.
Achieves frequent, timely and positive media coverage across all relevant media.
Negotiates print and online media packages
Qualifications
‘ REQUIREMENTS:’
Four-year college degree with strong preference for MBA or JD
8-10 years of experience in progressive strategic marketing roles
Substantial experience with all aspects of the product launch process
Strong business acumen: understands the key financial drivers and dynamics related to growth and revenue goals of an organization.
Ability to build relationships and influence all levels within an organization to drive results
Strong presentation skills
Substantial experience developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns
Substantial experience measuring the impact of strategic marketing campaigns
Substantial experience with customer research and competitive analysis and forecasting
Substantial experience building, managing, and motivating teams
Moderate travel required in this position, primarily within the U.S.
Experience with law or technology products strongly preferred
