Job Description
Purpose/Key Responsibilities:
Assist the General Counsel, Asia Pacific to provide a full and comprehensive range of in house legal services to Global Operations/Sourcing, Corporate Functions and/or Marketing & Sales, Asia Pacific
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the General Counsel to provide legal advice and suggest action plan or solution to assigned business division on their day-to-day business operations
Assist the General Counsel to investigate, research and resolve legal matters within corporate policies to achieve an advantageous company position
Assist the General Counsel to provide effective legal services including but not limited to the following :-
- Draft and review documents and contracts
- Establish standard form of agreements
- Establish relevant legal policies and procedures to assist the assigned business
division to better protect the group?s interests
- Identify the legal issues under any contract or document or applicable laws and the
related risks in law
Conduct legal research, interpret law, rulings and regulations
Gather information and locate relevant documentation for the assessment of the merits of all legal actions affecting the relevant business division and relate the same to external lawyers for further advice
Assist the General Counsel to provide relevant training to personnel of the assigned business division to ensure the legal policies and procedures are followed
Work closely with assigned business division to gather all relevant information and instructions in order to prepare the necessary documentation for the business
Ensure compliance of relevant company registration/business registration of all companies and offices within the relevant geographical coverage of the assigned business division in accordance with the relevant jurisdiction and legal requirements
Review legal enquiries from overseas offices or subsidiaries and provide relevant directions to resolve the issue
Work closely with the other legal departments of the adidas group to ensure effective collaboration to achieve an advantageous position for the adidas Group
Manage and provide functional guidance to Legal Manager/paralegal (if applicable)
Requisite Education/Experience:
A solicitor with at least 5 years' post qualification experience in an international law firm with relevant in-house experience and must be qualified in Hong Kong or a commonwealth country
Solid experience in general corporate work, commercial contracts and employment law
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and work under pressure
Very good written and spoken English and Chinese
Computer literacy is essential
