A former machine operator at an Illinois PepsiCo Inc. facility alleges the company failed to pay workers for the time they spent to complete a required pre-shift exam to check for Covid-19 symptoms.
PepsiCo “implemented an illegal policy requiring its non-exempt workers to undergo a COVID-19 screening each shift without pay” in violation of several Illinois state wage laws, Randy Johnson alleged in a proposed class action filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
