New Partner For Troutman Sanders In Hong Kong

As companies are rapidly being listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Rossana Chu, has joined the office in Hong Kong of the Atlanta-based law firm Troutman Sanders LLP. Ms. Chu was formerly a partner in the Hong Kong office of the global law firm Baker & McKenzie.

“The timing of Rossana’s arrival to Troutman Sanders could not be any better,” said Allen Shyu, managing partner of the firm’s Beijing office, in a press release.

“More than 50 companies successfully listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in the last quarter of 2013 alone.”

In 2009, Troutman Sanders closed its London office due to the impact of the global recession on its European business and has concentrated on developing its overseas presence in Asia.

The firm currently has 28 attorneys in Hong Kong including Ms Chu and five other partners. In 2007, it opened an office in Shanghai where there now are one partner and four other attorneys. The Beijing office, which opened in 2012, has one partner and three other attorneys. It has in total more than 600 attorneys and 12 offices in the United States.

Ms. Chu is to advise clients on mergers and acquisitions involving Hong Kong-listed companies, initial public offerings and corporate restructurings.

She received her bachelor’s degree in acconting and her post graduate crertificate in law from the City University of Hong Kong. She received her bachelor of law degree from the University of London and her master in law degree from the University of Hong Kong.
