An emergency meeting of the Charsadda District Bar Association was held on Saturday to condemn the killing of young lawyer Mian Asim Shah, allegedly at the hands of police.
The meeting demanded the immediate arrest of the accused SHO Charsadda city police station and the formation of a judicial inquiry, and urged the Supreme Court to take suo moto notice of the incident.
The meeting chaired by bar president Mujeeb ur Rehman Advocate, expressed shock over the killing of Mian Asim Shah by the SHO city police station Charsadda. The meeting described the incident as deeply troubling, expressing concern over the presence of such elements in the law enforcement institutions.
The meeting also called for an end to police brutality in Charsadda and stressed the need to ensure safety and security of the public.
Meawhile, the federal minister for SAFRON and provincial president of PML-N Amir Muqam visited Charsadda and met with Mian Mohsin Shah Kakakhel, the father of the slain young lawyer Mian Asim Shah Advocate, who was killed in police firing.
