The Tribunals Unit provides support services to 28 tribunals, each with functions and powers to hear and resolve disputes between parties.  The Legal and Research Advisor plays a key role in the day-to-day support of the Tribunals Unit.  This particular role supports the judiciary and operational teams of various tribunals, with a primary focus on the Weathertight Homes Tribunal, Legal Aid Tribunal and Accident Compensation Appeals Authority.

Duties include interpreting relevant legislative provisions, completing timely legal research and analysis, communicating your legal opinion, verbally and in writing, and proofreading legal documents with a good eye for detail.

You are an excellent communicator, have good computer skills and a proven ability to provide quality and timely legal research services.  With strong attention for detail and exceptional organisation skills, you are proactive and friendly.  You work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines and are flexible, calm, resilient and able to take direction.  You must have completed a Bachelor of Law degree and have some experience or interest in dealing with legal issues in the legal complaints area.

Salary range: $55,495–$75,081.
