We learn that Norton Rose Group has announced ” two significant Group level hires”.

Sheila Doyle joins the firm as Group Chief Information Officer, and Sam Dimond joins as Group Director of Knowledge Management.

Here’s the PR in full – we wish both Sheila & Sam the best at the firm

Both hires are for newly created positions within Norton Rose Group, aimed at enabling the enlarged Group to follow best practice for IT and knowledge management at a global level. As the Group continues to expand its international footprint, the new positions will act to lead excellence in IT and knowledge management throughout all jurisdictions.

Sheila Doyle joins as Group Chief Information Officer. She is a recognised leader in the IT industry, with over 28 years of experience. In that time, Sheila has held senior national and international roles at Royal Mail, BP and IBM. Sheila brings an independent perspective to the integration of the enlarged Group IT function, under-pinned by considerable experience of achieving the same goal for other large global companies. ?Sheila will have responsibility for driving much of the strategic IT changes that the expansion will necessitate, as well as actively pursuing and promoting the opportunities that IT presents to the organisation as it grows.

Sam Dimond joins from Clifford Chance, where he spent thirteen years after qualifying as a solicitor, most recently as Director of Global Knowledge Systems. Sam will take up the role of Group Director of Knowledge Management from 15 August. The role will see Sam take responsibility for building on the Group?s track record of relevant and effective knowledge management.

Peter Martyr, Group Chief Executive, Norton Rose Group, comments:

?As of 1st June, we?ll be amongst the ten biggest legal practices in the world. Bringing Sheila and Sam on board will help ensure our know-how is employed to the best effect across the Group, and our approach to IT remains at the cutting edge of our industry. Both are vital in ensuring our clients can properly benefit from our growth.?

Sheila Doyle comments:

?The legal industry has seen a great deal of development in recent years when it comes to IT. Norton Rose has often been at the forefront of many of those improvements, and so it?s a very exciting organisation to be joining. I look forward to working with the Group’s global IT leadership team to establish the right IT solutions to support the Group?s continued growth.?

Sam Dimond comments:

?This is an exciting time to be joining Norton Rose Group. ?Knowledge management is an important part of any legal practice, but for one that?s experienced the kind of growth that Norton Rose Group has in recent years it?s even more vital that the expertise of the practice is properly integrated across the Group and channelled into novel product offerings. ?I think that the Group’s focus on its key industry strengths shows how committed the practice is to utilising its knowledge to ensure a deep understanding of its clients, and I am very much looking forward to playing my part in the ongoing development of this goal?.
