The online map “Russian War Criminals” displays the following information about the Russian military:
- rank
- belonging to a military unit
- date of birth
- phone number
- passport data
Data from journalistic investigations have also been added to the cards of some military personnel, which indicate specific crimes they may have committed on the territory of Ukraine. Users can send additional data for each soldier using a special button in the profile.
The purpose of the project is to identify servicemen of the Russian Federation who are directly participating or involved in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
One of the key tasks of the online map “Russian War Criminals” is to help collect evidence of crimes committed by specific individuals during hostilities – for further use by Ukrainian and international investigators and the provision of this evidence in Ukrainian courts and the International Criminal Court (The Hague, Netherlands).
Information from the following sources was used to create the map:
- lists published by the Center for Defense Strategies and the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine
- information from the database “Search for your own”
- information resource of the NSDC
- lists of Russian military personnel received by investigative journalists, including “Slidstva.Info”
- other sites and social networks.
