This book provides the share quotations of more than 6500 scrips and mutual funds as on January 31, 2018 or any previous date on which trading is done at stock exchange. As per the new provision, an investor can assume the market value of a share or mutual fund as on 31/01/2018 as its cost of acquisition. If there is no trading as on January 31, 2018 in an equity share, the market value of such share will be the highest price on the date immediately preceding to January 31, 2018, on which trade has been carried out in that scrip. Therefore, it is quite difficult for a taxpayer to identify the last traded price if there is no trading on January 31, 2018. The book provides the latest available market quotations of such shares on a date immediately preceding to January 31, 2018, on which it has been traded.
