Bloomsbury Publishing has announced the appointment of Martin Casimir as publishing director of Bloomsbury Professional. This move, which has already been described by one industry observer as ?extremely shrewd?,.....
Casimir is one of the UK?s leading experts in the professional information sector, with extensive experience including senior roles at Lexis Nexis and Wolters Kluwer.
Ian Brushwood, Product Director at Hammicks Legal Information Services, said ?This is an extremely shrewd move by Bloomsbury. Martin Casimir is one of the most respected executives in the industry, and his appointment will be very well received by their customers and authors?.
Casimir said of his appointment: ?I am delighted to be joining Bloomsbury Professional. I have come to know the company well over the last couple of months, and it?s a fabulous business with loads of potential. There are some exciting plans already underway, and I?m looking forward to contributing to their future growth?.
Casimir was recruited by Jim Smith, managing director of Bloomsbury Professional. The two worked together at Tolley, and subsequently at LexisNexis. Smith said ?Martin is a great fit for us. He will work exceptionally well within the Bloomsbury culture, which is supportive, dynamic and entrepreneurial.
