Senior Counsel R Krishnamoorthy has been elected President of Madras Bar Association for 2009-10 in elections held on April 28.
According to a press release Mr V Bharathidasan was elected Secretary, Mr M Govindarajan (Treasurer) and R Karthikeyan (Librarian).
A L Ganthimathi, V R Kamalanathan, M S Ramesh, S Thangavel, R Karunakaran and H Suresh Babu were elected committee members, the release added.
Meanwhile, a Madras High Court circular said May 13 would be a holiday for the Registry of the High Court–both Principal Seat at Chennai and the Madurai Bench– and all subordinate courts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in view of the Lok Sabha elections.
