Nestor Becomes EVP @ Wolters Kluwer Corp Legal Services

Even with acronyms that’s a mouthful isn’t it..

Wolters Kluwer Corporate Legal Services (CLS) has announced the appointment of Thomas Nestor as executive vice president (EVP), finance.

In this role we’re told he is responsible for leadership of the company’s finance organization and is also part of the CLS executive team.

Here’s the rest of the PR

Nestor brings nearly 20 years of experience in financial services to CLS. He’s held a number of progressively senior-level positions at American Express, his most recent as the vice president and lead financial officer for the U.S. Consumer Card Group. In this role, Nestor provided critical insight on business performance issues and identified strategic opportunities to optimize the P&L and drive growth. He played a key role in leading American Express’s response to the CARD Act legislation by developing the framework for new pricing and fee models that enabled credit card businesses to conform to unprecedented legislation while optimizing profitability. In addition, Nestor was integral to the successful launch of the Plum Card, the first payments card product designed for small business with trade terms functionality — a true marketplace innovation.

“Tom is an ideal candidate for this position. He brings a combination of financial discipline, rigorous analytics and a collaborative leadership style to CLS,” said Richard Flynn, president & CEO of Wolters Kluwer Corporate Legal Services. “His ability to drive innovation and achievement from financial and business intelligence will be integral toward helping CLS achieve its aggressive goals.”

In addition to his experience with American Express, Nestor has held senior-level positions with Philip Morris USA, Daimler-Benz North America and KPMG Peat Marwick.

“In today’s rapidly changing information age, companies who have access to data on a global scale can really set themselves apart from the competition,” said Nestor. “Wolters Kluwer CLS not only has the data, but the insight and expertise to help its customers make better-informed decisions based on that data. I am extremely excited to be part of that.”

Nestor has a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in finance from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Scranton. His position is based in CLS’s New York offices.
