This Thursday! “Immigration Detention and Resistance”
Join the National Lawyers Guild Thursday, April 14 from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. to discuss “Cruel by Design: Voices of Resistance From Immigration Detention,” a comprehensive report we published with the the Immigrant Defense Project that highlights the immigration system as a structure of oppression, the cruel and inhumane conditions at ICE facilities, and the individuals who have survived and resisted. This event will feature attorney and Bertha Justice Fellow Samah Sisay as well as Joaris Hernandez, an immigrant rights activist. Other first-hand accounts from individuals previously detained by ICE will also be shared.
