Mysterious Dismissal For CMS Managing Partner in Singapore

Legal Business Online reports…. Andrew Stott, the Singapore managing partner of CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang, has been dismissed from the firm and also reported to the UK’s Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

Stott, who was Singapore managing partner of Olswang before that firm’s three-way merger with CMS and Nabarro in 2017, moved to the city-state 2012 when Olswang opened its office there. He has been replaced by Toby Grainger, formerly a partner with Olswang.

The reasons behind Stott’s firing remain unclear at this point. “CMS does not normally comment publicly on confidential Partner matters,” said the firm in a statement. “We are mindful of the SRA process and serious sensitivities and will not be commenting further at this time.”

According to the firm, Stott’s dismissal was first proposed by CMS senior partner Penelope Warne and managing partner Stephen Millar, and subsequently approved unanimously by the 20-partner board.
