A new piece of evidence in the high-profile case involving the alleged rape of a French lawyer by the sons of prominent businessmen is expected to shift the course of the investigation, sources told Hespress.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Casablanca Court of Appeal has received a transcript of a phone call between the main suspect and a friend of the complainant.
The transcript reportedly includes an admission that the complainant and her friend consulted a “conjurer” in Marrakech, who claimed the lawyer had been raped while unconscious. The conjurer’s assertion reportedly led to the filing of complaints in France and Morocco against four suspects.
The French complainant, a permanent resident of Marrakech, allegedly sought the conjurer’s services after attending a party in Casablanca hosted by the main suspect. She was accompanied by her fiancé, who is currently detained on unrelated charges. Following the consultation, she underwent medical tests upon her return to France and lodged an official complaint.
The defense team has submitted the phone transcript and witness testimonies as evidence. Witnesses reportedly denied claims of rape, assault, or detention. Defense lawyers highlighted medical reports that found no signs of violence or sexual assault, challenging the basis of the allegations.
