After last weeks “French Revolution” revalations from a current Lexis employee in the US we thought we should do another Lexis search on Job vent to see what other points of view there might be from current and former employees of the company..

Unfortunately there are only 3 reviews – we can’t work out if that is the “Fear Factor” in play… eg? rat on us and you are out or whether 99% of LN employees around the world just love their job and their work environment

Here are 3 who are certainly in 2 minds about the company.. info at

They write:

Ok we admit it – these people are of one mind rather than 2…

Auckland 08/21/2009: During the last year the company employed the worst managers they could find. The most pathetic CEO, the most useless HR practitioner and continue to keep a management team that consist of people that has no idea what they are doing. With the worst Employee Opinion Survey rating in the world they still continue to keep a management team that is absolutely useless. The outcome: a company that has had at least 12 personal grievances in the past seven months and good people loosing their jobs so that pathetic “directors” can keep theirs.

Boca Raton, FL 08/17/2009: The Executive management is so out of touch with the rest of the company. Lexis has spend the last 5 years trying to buy themselves respect and all they have been able to do it get themselves into huge debt. Don’t expect to have any managers that will have your back, they are way to concerned stepping on your back to get ahead. I have worked in the industry for 15 years always in management and I have never seen the kind of back stabbing and lying and cheating this company is willing to do, not only to employees but clients as well.
If you have another option for a job take it. If not keep your head down and your mouth closed, and look forward to the day Lexis is just a line on your resume.

Alpharetta,Georgia 02/11/2009: Lexis Nexis sucks. I have never worked at a company that is so unorganized.

West don’t do much better — see at http://www.jobvent.com/companyBrowse.php?CompanyID=423

Here come a few choice snippets? – this one is a bit of an “ouch”

Just a quick note, this company is the most sneaky underhanded sleeze ball of a company, even from telemarketing standards this is the most worse of them all. All rules that you must abide by can and will change without notification of such.

or this

Never clean the place, training a joke, pay is definitely a joke. Incompetence reigns at West.

and this

Most of the Benefits stink and cost too much. Respect is great from everyone other than the “Proffesionals”.

and Kluwer (CCH) in the US may need to pay a little more attention to their workforce as well if they want to keep a tight ship

The company is run by a small clique that promotes only their minions.

or this ……

I was an Account Executive for about three months in Houston. The new manager gave me a lap top, brochures and business cards and said go sell. I asked about product training so I knew what I was selling she said she had no time to teach us the products because she had lots of management meetings in Chicago. Every Friday she would call and say she would help me any way i needed and said if i didn’t sell I would get fired.

and this

The new manager was out of control, she would call every week and tell me she could fire me for no reason. She would have these emotional runaways with her emails and phone calls. I felt like there was no business plan except to call the reps and tell them how unhappy she was that they (the reps) were making her look bad in front of management. She has gone through seven people in four months!!! CCH a Wolters Kluwer business is a place you can work temporary till you find another job. Expect to stay 2 to 3 months

Sounds as though McKinstry needs to get on a plane and install some of the important cultural changes she has made in Europe throughout the sales management team in the USA.
