Monster Energy allegedly challenged the trademark application of a family-owned fishing gear business in Kentucky, now that business is asking a federal court to declare that it isn’t infringing Monster Energy’s trademark.
Monster Rod Holder Brands says it has been in business since 2008, making and selling fishing-related products. But according to its complaint, filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, Monster Energy opposed its trademarks applications, contending the marks for the fishing gear business would cause confusion in the marketplace.
