MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — LexisNexis Legal & Professional is eliminating 205 jobs nationally, according to an email from Mike Walsh, chief executive of LexisNexis Legal & Professional, to employees Thursday afternoon.
The cuts follow the combining of a LexisNexis’ Internet marketing division with marketing company Internet Brands, which was announced Aug. 30.
A LexisNexis spokesman confirmed the job cuts, but did not say where the cuts will be distributed or if any of the layoffs would be in the Dayton area.
“After careful thought and consideration during integration planning, we’ve determined that 205 roles will be eliminated nationally,” Walsh wrote in an email to co-workers. “Going forward, these roles will be carried out by the El Segundo-based Internet Brands team in California. Walsh said employees were notified earlier today.
The joint venture was to offer customers website hosting, online listings and other marketing services, LexisNexis parent Reed Elsevier announced in September. The venture paired legal directory firm Martindale-Hubbell, part of LexisNexis, with Internet Brands online marketing services.
Research and content giant LexisNexis employs 3,600 people at a Miami Twp. campus. The Martindale-Hubbell headquarters is in New Providence, N.J.
