Not sure if Christmas brings out the best in some lawyers and firms, here’s a selection of the interesting and the bizarre that have come over the interweb wires in the past few days..
The Political Carnival blog reports on? London based firm Lloyd Platt & Company who are selling divorce vouchers for Christmas
A London law firm said it has already sold 54 of this year’s “must-have” Christmas gift — vouchers for couples seeking to discuss divorce with a lawyer.
Lloyd Platt & Company said the vouchers, which start at $201 for a couple’s half-hour session with a lawyer, have led hundreds of people to contact the firm in recent days and 54 of the vouchers have been sold in only three weeks, The Daily Telegraph reported Thursday.
“Christmas can be a very stressful time for families as we have always seen by the huge increase of people seeking advice in January,” senior partner Vanessa Lloyd Platt said. “The vouchers seem to appeal to an enormously wide spread spectrum of people looking for that ‘must-have’ gift for Christmas.”

Over at Above The Law where lawyers in NYC are getting into the sex business as a career alternative
They write:
Sex Kitten told Time Out that swinging is an excellent way to relax after a tough day at the law firm:
Swinging is stress relief. It?s a way to express yourself in a way that you might not be able to if you?re a conservative person. I spend the day in business attire, then when the weekend comes, if we?ve planned a party, I go home and change into?very little clothing.
She tells ATL:
I went to law school in New York City and currently work at a Vault 100 law firm as an associate. I was able hit my target billable hours every month until a recent slowdown at my firm. For this reason, I?ve been developing School of Sex to the point that it?s a viable backup career.
Is sex promotion a good career alternative? And how does a Biglaw girl balance client needs with orgies while building her business?

And over at Roll On Friday this Clifford Chance partner has obviously had a long tedious year.. his out of office reply reads…
I am on holiday.? I will be spending the majority of my time in Portugal conducting a little Santa due diligence.? First, I need to check the quality of the chimneys in Portugal following complaints from Santa last year that he could not fit down many of them – personally I think it is all those mince pies.? Secondly, I must check the naughtiness of the children in Portugal both in absolute terms and in relative terms against the NCI (the Naughty Children’s Index).? Finally, I need to ensure that Santa does get a 100% hit rate on all the well behaved children.? If you need to get hold of me urgently while I am doing all this Santa due diligence please call X.? Alternatively, please contact Y or Z, both of whom are in the office over the Christmas period.? Thank you and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
