Description
The Marketing Coordinator is the cornerstone of the law firm’s marketing and public relations efforts. This person is responsible for the development and implementation of the law firm’s integrated marketing program that will include arranging for public and private workshops, coordinating continuing educations programs for financial and tax professionals, managing referrals and professional relationships, advertising and PR activities, managing media relationships and following proven marketing and PR systems. This individual has a high degree of responsibility and may direct the efforts of others in the firm to achieve desired marketing and PR results.

You must also be a self-starter; well organized; able to work in a fast-paced environment under the pressure of multiple deadlines and campaigns; and believe in the importance of accuracy and quality. Must have excellent word processing, proofing, spelling, and grammar skills and intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, including excel. Must have excellent command of market analysis and reporting. Previous marketing experience highly recommended.
Your path to success will involve learning the relevant areas of our unique practice from the ground floor up. You will learn all aspects of our client development processes including how to develop and implement an integrated marketing plan.
What You’ll Do:
• Develop and implement the law firm’s integrated marketing plan.
• Manage media relations, including identifying key media contacts in the community and build relationships that support positive exposure in the press. Evaluate media outlets for both advertising and public relations purposes, emphasizing the extent of their reach to target market groups.
• Prepare articles or acquire ghostwritten articles and other PR pieces from various firm sources and coordinate their placement in local media.
• Manage direct mail, referral marketing, networking and affinity marketing programs, including developing and managing professional relationships for hosted events.
• Organize workshops, continuing education programs, client and other company events. Coordinate arrangements with the facility, including audio/visual, room setup, refreshments and on-site signage.
• Coordinate the creation of original ad copy and placement of advertisements for scheduled workshops sweeps in local newspapers or other advertising media as arranged.
• Prepare database and staff for workshop registration process.
• Track and generate tracking reports to analyze results of all marketing and PR efforts, and discuss results with attorney and Practice Advisor
• Participate in weekly staff meetings, which includes providing input to law firm operations and procedures.
• Assist with client relations and administrative tasks when needed, including support with answering phones and scheduling appointments with clients, prospective clients and other attorney meetings.
•Additional duties as needed.
Ideal Candidates Have:
• Bachelor’s degree (specific degree in business, marketing, communications, advertising, or related field preferred).
• 2-3 years experience with sales and marketing support preferred.
• Superb customer service, administrative, and verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional during tense or stressful situations
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Very self-motivated and goal-oriented
• Ability to balance and prioritize many tasks.
• Strong technology skills.
• Ability to work an occasional weekday evening or Saturday when the firm has workshops or other events.
• Non-smoker preferred.
NOTE: We are a “paperless” office and are very technology centric. An ability to work with and learn new technology is CRITICAL. We will provide training on specialty software and applications but a mid-level understanding of MS Office, including excel and a general comfort with using technology and learning new software and/or cloud applications is a MUST.
